Little Women
Little Women
Looking at a child is like looking at a sea of possibilities; we often wonder: what kind of an adult will he or she become?
It is this transformation, this “becoming” that I wanted to capture with this project.
I started following 4 young girls in 2011, and the project has gone on until 2014.
When I started, they were between 11 and 14 years old. One of the girls, the oldest one, stopped coming to the shootings after a couple of years. As if her 16 years already put her apart from the other younger girls.
This is not a work about adolescence, but about its arrival: I wanted to look at the child and perceive the adolescent she was becoming.
For now, they are not children anymore, and they are not women yet.
They are four “Little Women”.
